Back Up Care - Accepting Referrals
As a Back-Up Care Nanny: You'll provide in-home childcare on a part-time or temporary basis, creating a safe and engaging environment for children of all ages, from newborns to school-age. Enjoy the flexibility of making your own schedule and working when you want to, typically during daytime hours Monday through Friday, with shifts lasting a minimum of 4 hours. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse experience working with different families and children, with the potential to work up to 30 hours per week. Plus, The Nanny Network now offers SAME-DAY PAY! Successfully complete a job, and you can collect up to 70% of your earnings immediately. Pay for back-up care positions starts at $17 per hour before taxes and includes eligibility for our quarterly raise program allowing potential for wage growth every 3 months! For both Back-Up Care roles, we require: • A minimum of two years of recent professional childcare experience (examples include nannying, babysitting, behavioral therapy, daycare, teaching, and newborn care). • At least two professional references (not including family members or friends) that we can contact to verify your experience. • A genuine love for children and an enthusiastic, positive attitude. • Excellent communication and punctuality. • Reliable transportation to and from families' homes (non-drivers are welcome to apply, but some locations may not be accessible via public transportation). You should be open to travel plus or minus 30 miles each way for jobs. • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete/renew certification before accepting work. • Must be over the age of 18 and legally able to work in the United States. • Willingness to work in homes with pets (pet care is not a requirement). • A preference among many families for non-smokers. • A teamwork spirit and the ability to adapt to different family dynamics. A delightful family in Finksburg is seeking a stellar nanny to care for their two wonderful boys, ages 3.5 years and 1.5 years. The family may be able to offer additional hours for the right nanny. Their oldest son attends preschool, while their youngest is home full-time. During the summer months or when their oldest is off from school or feeling under the weather, full-day care will be needed for both boys. The family hopes to find a nurturing and energetic nanny who will engage the boys in active, hands-on play and age-appropriate learning, encourage exploration and imaginative adventures both indoors and outdoors, and always prioritize their safety while exercising sound judgment. They would love someone who plans fun outings and activities that promote development and creativity. Responsibilities include preschool drop-off and pick-up for the oldest child; preparing and serving healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks while practicing proper food safety (including cutting food into bite-sized pieces as needed); assisting with packing lunches on school mornings; changing the boys’ crib sheets and refreshing their water bottles weekly; and keeping play areas and other spaces used by the nanny and children tidy. The family would also appreciate someone who is open to loading and unloading the dishwasher and assisting with transferring laundry from the washer to the dryer and from the dryer to the laundry basket. These tasks are considered a “nice to have” and are not required. The family has a friendly Labradoodle who will either be out of the home or kept in a separate room during care, only minimal responsibilities (let out once per day, bring out to mobile grooming truck when they come once every 4 weeks). A safe driver is needed, and the family can provide a car for use during work hours or reimburse mileage as well as assist with automobile insurance if their nanny prefers to use their own vehicle. They are also open to a nanny who brings their own child. Dad occasionally works from home. This is a wonderful opportunity for a loving, responsible nanny who enjoys spending time with young children and wants to grow with a great family!

A friendly and welcoming family in Timonium is looking for a Family Assistant for a long-term temporary position lasting 6–8 months. Their sweet 22-month-old daughter attends daycare full-time. They are mainly looking for someone to help keep their household running smoothly, with occasional help with their little one after daycare when an extra set of hands would be appreciated. The schedule would 4-5 days per week with the hours being 4pm/5pm until 8pm. They are also happy to consider a reliable candidate who uses public transportation, as driving is not required or permitted for this role. The heart of this role is providing household support and helping make daily life a little easier for the family. Responsibilities include family and children’s laundry, light tidying and organizing, keeping the kitchen neat, and preparing simple meals for both the family and their child. The Family Assistant will also help tidy the child’s room and maintain organization in shared spaces. Grocery shopping will be done through a delivery app, so the role involves placing grocery orders and organizing groceries when they arrive, rather than traveling to the store. Because of this, the family would love someone who is comfortable with technology and able to easily navigate grocery delivery apps. While childcare is not the primary focus, the family would appreciate occasional support with their daughter after daycare, especially during the evening routine. Mom will always be home but may occasionally welcome help with dinner, bath time, or bedtime routines. The household is completely gluten-free, so the candidate should feel comfortable preparing and handling gluten-free meals and foods. Meal prep will focus on simple, approachable meals, and mom is happy to share recipes, meal ideas, and favorite grocery items that fit their gluten-free needs to make things easy. Agency Paid positions are paid by the agency and the hired provider would become an employee of The Nanny Network.
