Back Up Care - Accepting Referrals
As a Back-Up Care Nanny: You'll provide in-home childcare on a part-time or temporary basis, creating a safe and engaging environment for children of all ages, from newborns to school-age. Enjoy the flexibility of making your own schedule and working when you want to, typically during daytime hours Monday through Friday, with shifts lasting a minimum of 4 hours. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse experience working with different families and children, with the potential to work up to 30 hours per week. Plus, The Nanny Network now offers SAME-DAY PAY! Successfully complete a job, and you can collect up to 70% of your earnings immediately. Pay for back-up care positions starts at $17 per hour before taxes and includes eligibility for our quarterly raise program allowing potential for wage growth every 3 months! For both Back-Up Care roles, we require: • A minimum of two years of recent professional childcare experience (examples include nannying, babysitting, behavioral therapy, daycare, teaching, and newborn care). • At least two professional references (not including family members or friends) that we can contact to verify your experience. • A genuine love for children and an enthusiastic, positive attitude. • Excellent communication and punctuality. • Reliable transportation to and from families' homes (non-drivers are welcome to apply, but some locations may not be accessible via public transportation). You should be open to travel plus or minus 30 miles each way for jobs. • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to complete/renew certification before accepting work. • Must be over the age of 18 and legally able to work in the United States. • Willingness to work in homes with pets (pet care is not a requirement). • A preference among many families for non-smokers. • A teamwork spirit and the ability to adapt to different family dynamics. A warm and welcoming family in West Friendship is seeking a dependable, nurturing nanny to care for their sweet 23-month-old daughter. The family is hoping to find someone long-term who can become an important part of their child’s life and potentially help care for another child in the future as their family grows. The schedule will include care on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, along with one additional half day from 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, which could be on Friday or another weekday. The family is also open to removing the half day should their provider prefer a two-day schedule. Their ideal nanny is experienced with toddlers, reliable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about working with children. Responsibilities include providing attentive and developmentally appropriate care, preparing meals for the child, and keeping the areas of the home used by the nanny and child tidy throughout the day. The family has a friendly beagle mix, so comfort around dogs is important, and while light pet care or occasional dog walking would be appreciated, it is not required. Mom works from home in a separate designated office, and the household is non-smoking. A driver with their own car is required.

Summer Nanny Position: June 16th,2026 - August 21st, 2026 A family in Catonsville is seeking a warm, dependable, energetic, and highly responsible nanny to provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment for their children this summer. The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and will take an active role in planning activities, outings, and experiences that keep the children learning, moving, and entertained throughout the day. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. Responsibilities include actively engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, transporting them to local outings or appointments as needed, preparing lunches for the children, and occasionally warming up dinners prepared by Mom. The family would also appreciate someone comfortable around dogs, as they have a friendly and energetic dog in the home. Feeding the dog is not required but would be considered a nice bonus. Because the family has a swimming pool, water safety awareness is extremely important, and the ideal candidate must feel confident supervising children around water and maintaining a safe environment during swim time. A nanny with their own insured vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation is required. The position's hourly rate includes compensation for mileage related to transporting the children. Occasional weekend availability would also be appreciated for times when additional support is needed, though not required. Most importantly, the family is hoping to find someone trustworthy, communicative, dependable, and enthusiastic about creating a memorable and enjoyable summer for their children while giving parents peace of mind knowing they are in excellent hands.
