The summer of 2020 will undoubtedly present many challenges for young families due to camp closures caused by COVID-19. We have been working hard to create something to help those families whose child care plans are uncertain or have already been canceled. We wanted to come up with something that addresses the health concerns that are on top of everyone’s mind, that also provides a fun, structured summer experience that your children will never forget! Camp@Home is an in-home 10-week program (from June 15-August 21, divided into two 5-week sessions) that allows our experienced, highly vetted caregivers to jump in and help you the best way they know how.
Camp@Home is based on an in-home nanny-share format which allows for a small group child care setting with a cautious approach to social interaction. By sharing a “summer buddy” for their children, families can keep the costs of child care down. Note: We strongly encourage families to find each other before starting a search with us. Our Summer Buddies are trained child care professionals who know the nitty gritty of having fun while keeping children safe and entertained.
Summer Camp Program
The Nanny Network has developed programming (for children ages 3 years and up) for an exciting 10-week journey “around the world” whereby all of the “campers” will travel to a new destination each week, with activities focused on the geography and culture of that destination. This unique approach provides camp-like fun, variety and structure for all of our Camp@Home participants while simultaneously creating a sense of camp community through weekly online “flagpole” meetings with other campers in the program in the Baltimore/D.C. area.
Camp@Home will focus on traditional day camp activities along with some academic enrichment, including arts and crafts, music, STEM, sports and games. The agency will provide you with a shopping list ready for purchase on Amazon to ensure your home camp location will be fully stocked and ready to go when camp begins.
Schedule and Fees
Our Camp@Home program falls under The Nanny Network’s Long-term Temporary placement services. In keeping with these services, an annual membership fee of $150 is due at sign up. This membership fee provides year-long access to reduced member rates for all of The Nanny Network’s services including Camp@Home, in-home back-up child care, Sidekick (including grocery shopping and delivery), and virtual learning support through School@Home.
1st Session: June 15-July 17, Monday-Friday 9:00 am-3:00 pm (extended schedule 9:00am-4:00pm available at an additional cost)
2nd Session: July 20-August 21, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-3:00 pm (extended schedule 9:00am-4:00pm available at an additional cost)
During these challenging times, we are waiving the $150 membership fee that is typically required to access member pricing. Therefore, any family who registers for temporary child care services, including Camp@Home, by June 1, 2020 will have their $150 membership fee refunded.
If you have a friend or neighbor that would be interested in sharing a nanny with you and bringing camp into their home(s), please complete a parent application on our website (each family must create an account). One of our placement coordinators will reach out to you as soon as possible upon receipt of your application.
